Peace walk was led by the students of Basharat-e-Ibn-Mariam School and St. Dominic Girls High School. Students were holding flags of the all countries of the world.
After peace walk a colourful Scholarship award ceremony was started in the hall; where 75 deserving and intelligent students were given Books and stationary for the year 2009. This scholarship was arranged by Organization for Peace and Development (OPD). |

A program was started with the reading from Holy Bible and prayer said by the students. After that Mr. Francis Xavier President of Basharat-e-Ibn-e-Mariam Women and Children Development Organization briefed about his organization's programs and its projects. Then Mr. Sanaullah Daniel Chairman Youth Educational Society briefed about his organization's work and projects.
During the program students sang a song and performed tableau. The performance of the students was remarkable and meaningful. All the students who took part in the songs or tableau were admired by the audience. |

Speaking to the audience Mr. Jahangir Piara said that if we want to bring a peaceful change in the world. We need to educate our children. We have to empower them with education and human values. He further said that this is the responsibility of all of us to support our children our next generation to get education. Because until or unless we do not educate our children. There will be no positive change, a change for which we all wish and that is peace, development and prosperity with in our families and around the world. We have to educate our children to become a good citizen of the world. I, therefore, request you all not ignore your children and support him/her to get education for the sake and safe of human life. Our children are our hope, a hope of development, peace and prosperity.
He also thanked all the people who helped OPD to arrange a Scholarship Award Ceremony. He also thanked parents of the students and partner organization who contributed to organize a wonderful and colourful program.
Scholarship was distributed to the students by Mr. Francis Xavier, Mr. Sana Ullah Daniel, Mr. Jahangir Piara, Ms. Noreen George, Ms. Tasleem, Ms. Martha, Ms. Josephine, and Ms. Saba Sadiq.
Mr. Jahangir Piara thanked all the participants and the all friends who supported financially for this activity.
Refreshment was served at the end of the program to all participants of the program.

International Day of Women was organized by Organization for Peace and Development, Youth Educational Society, Basharat-e-Ibn-e-Mariam Women and Children Development Organization and Friends of Charity Organization.
This activity was organized on March 07, 2009, to commemorate the efforts of the women for their equal rights.
Anila Gill shared the history and efforts of the women for equal rights and opportunities. She said that a woman has enough capacity to do the things like man. She said that today women have played vital role towards the development of a family or society. She also emphasized that we need to educate our daughters/girls for our better future. She said we should not give preference to our sons on daughters while they both are human and have equal rights to grow.
Young girls from youth also spoke about the day and said that we should be given an equal rights and opportunities like boys. They said that now a woman is fully aware about her roles and responsibilities, therefore, she should be given an opportunity to empower her self by education and should play her role in the prosperity and progress of the family and the country.

Mr. Francis Xavier and Mr. Sana Ullah Daniel also spoke about the day and said that we support all those efforts which are taken for the equal rights and opportunities of the women.
Mr. Jahangir Piara thanked all the participants and said we should always remember the efforts and sacrifices of those people who made struggle for all of us. He also said that we support all the efforts of UNO which provides equal rights and opportunities for all mankind of the world to lead their lives according to their respective will.
He said that this a turmoil time in the history of Pakistan. And we all should make peaceful efforts to curb poverty, ignorance and terrorism from our country. Each one of us regardless of age, gender, and religions should do whatever one can for the development and prosperity of our beloved country and for world as well.
